No shower… so we improvised! 😝 Who needs a real one for a #photography shoot anyway? Feeling this

You know, sometimes on a #photography shoot, everything is perfect. The lighting is golden, the outfit is fire, the vibe is 10/10.

And sometimes… you’re on location, you have this brilliant idea for a dramatic, “wet look” shot… and you realize there is no shower.

Not even a sink with warm water. Nothing.

You have that moment. That “oh… well, crap” moment where the whole idea could just die. You could just pack it up, say “never mind,” and stick to the “safe” (dry) shots.

But where’s the fun in that? 😝

This is the part of the shoot where you look at your photographer, they look at you, and one of you just gets that mischievous, “I have a terrible, great idea” look.

No shower? Improvise.

Enter: one (1) slightly rusty, green watering can found in the garden shed.

This is the part they don’t show you in the glossy “behind-the-scenes” videos. This isn’t some luxurious, spa-like rain shower. This is me, standing in the middle of a field, trying to brace myself while my photographer hauls a sloshing, freezing-cold can of well water.

“Are you ready?”

“No! Just do it!”

And then… WHUMP.

It’s not a “drizzle.” It’s a waterfall. It’s a shock. It’s freezing.

My first reaction wasn’t a “pose.” It was a full-on, open-mouthed, “AAAAH!” gasp. It was a laugh that was half-scream. It was me trying to wipe the water out of my eyes, hair stuck to my face in the most unglamorous way possible.

And the photographer? Just click-click-click-clicking away.

And this is where the #bodypositivity really kicks in.

In that moment, I wasn’t thinking about my “angles.” I wasn’t “sucking it in.” I wasn’t worried if my pose was “flattering.” I was alive. I was covered in goosebumps. I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe. I was 100% in my body, in the moment, completely un-self-conscious.

That’s the magic.

That’s the real #bodypositivity. It’s not always about standing in the mirror and loving every single piece. Sometimes, it’s about being so engaged in the joy of the moment that you completely forget to be insecure. It’s about embracing the imperfect, the chaotic, the goosebumps, and the genuine, un-posed laugh.

And the photos?

They are a million times better than any “perfect” shower shot we could have planned. They are dynamic, they are full of energy, and they are real. You can’t fake that kind of fun.

So, this is your sign. No shower? No “perfect” setup? No “right” equipment?

Good. Improvise. Go make some magic. 😝
