✨ Red Carpet Debut: Our First Official Couple’s Night Out at the ACM Awards

Well, we did it. After weeks of whispers, hints, and a whole lot of Will they or won’t they just make it official?—we finally took the plunge. Not into a pool, but onto the red carpet at the ACM Awards. And let me tell you, for our first official night out as a couple, @danaehays and I picked the deep end. We went full Hollywood, country music style!

The planning phase alone was enough to make us realize that dating an awards show is slightly more complicated than dating a movie night. We spent hours coordinating outfits. I wanted something sleek, she wanted something stunning, and the Venn diagram of “something that photographs well” and “something you can comfortably sit in for four hours” was surprisingly small. Danae looked absolutely incredible, radiating that effortless star power, while I mostly just focused on not spilling anything on myself before we even hit the arrival line.

The Controlled Chaos of the Red Carpet

Stepping onto that carpet is a sensory overload. It’s not the glamorous, slow-motion walk you see on TV. It’s a high-energy sprint under a thousand blinding lights, punctuated by people screaming your name—or, in my case, screaming “Hey, is that… the guy with Danae?” 🤣

We tried to maintain that cool, celebrity composure, but five minutes in, the cracks were showing. We got separated briefly by a wave of publicists, and I had this moment of pure panic, thinking, “Did I just lose my date in a sea of sequins and photographers?” When we finally found each other again near the press pool, we just burst out laughing. That’s when I knew this was going to work—we can find the comedy even when we’re surrounded by high-stakes glamour.

The funniest moment, hands down, was trying to pose naturally. We tried the classic “arm around the waist” pose, which instantly felt stiff. We tried the “look deeply into each other’s eyes” pose, which just made us giggle. We settled on the “We are here and slightly confused, but look how good the tailor is” pose, and honestly, that seemed to work best. We were just being ourselves: a little awkward, a lot happy, and thrilled to be there.

Inside the Arena: The Real Date Night

Once inside, away from the flashing bulbs, it actually turned into a spectacular date night. We got to see some of our favorite artists perform live, shout-singing along to every word. Holding her hand while listening to those amazing voices and celebrating country music felt surreal and incredibly special. It was the perfect backdrop for our first big public outing—loud, celebratory, and full of great energy.

Every now and then, another celeb would stop by our seats to say hello, and I’d get this little thrill of being a part of something huge. But the best part of the night wasn’t the stars, the stage, or the shiny awards. It was just stealing glances at Danae across the table, watching her smile, and knowing we were doing this crazy, fun thing together.

It was chaotic, high-pressure, incredibly glamorous, and yes, a little ridiculous. Our first night out as a couple was nothing short of epic, and I wouldn’t change a single moment of it. Thanks for the memories, @ACM Awards—and thanks for being the perfect date, @danaehays!

What do you think we should do for our second official date? Keep it low-key or go even bigger?
